What's it all about?

The purpose if this site is to list all the existing words. Simple as that!

In addition to listing the words I thought it would be a great idea to build associations. A business or a website can be associated to virtually any word existing in a given language. It costs just $100 to bind a business to a word. Once a word is approved and up on the site it cannot be changed, removed, or switched to another business excluding rare cases when people change certain information about their businesses.

How did you come up with an idea?

I'm a linguist. So I thought, "Wouldn't it be interesting to see what kind of images people get when they here a word?" I've been putting this aside for quite some time for the idea is crazy. There are a lot of articles on linguistics, psychology, applied math and such describing very complicated nature of human language.

Then I saw a Million Dollar Home Page. Alex's idea is simple and brilliant. So I thought why don't I give it a shot? But instead of selling pixels (which had become a conveyor business) I'm offering to own a piece of your language.

Why should I buy a word association?

Because the word will be listed on the website and will be linked to your business (name, address, website). It's like buying a real estate in a language. The site will run at least for 5 years and, like MillionDollarHomePage, the idea is to keep it forever.

I think it's a fresh idea, different from pixel-mania in a way and can be picked up very quickly (I'll hold my fingers crossed). And because the "good" and most searchable words can go fast you don't want to miss a chance. It's fair business competition after all.

How exactly is it going to work?

You simply fill in the form with the word or a phrase you want to get associated with. My main rule is that it should mean something. That's why you need to supply a link to a Wikipedia article for this word or any other article that would have he explanation of the word.

For now all the submitted words will be reviewed manually for validity (hey, I need to do something to earn the $100). After the word is reviewed and approved I will send a PayPal invoice, or a link to a PayPal shopping cart for payment. You will have 5 business days to submit a payment. When the payment is cleared I will activate the word and it will immediately appear on the main page. You will receive a receipt of our transaction.
If the word is not valid from my own point of view (it's rude, offensive, illegal, or anything like that, or simply doesn't exist), it will be marked as declined and will prevent future entries of such word. If the payment is not received or not cleared I will remove it from the system and it will be available for others to get.

I reserve the right to reject service to anyone.

What kind of words can I add?

Any words and phrases from any languages. But you must provide a link where this word is listed as a dictionary or definition entry. If a word is already on the web site you can try to submit a phrase or a word combination.

All the words that represent a copyrighted name, phrase, trademark, or the like cannot be used unless submitted by their owners. Such words can only be associated with the business which holds the copyright or own a trademark. For example, the word "Toyota" (©2005-2006 Toyota Motor Corporation) may ONLY be used by Toyota, not dealerships that sell Toyota (©2005-2006 Toyota Motor Corporation) cars.

I give credit to Alex Tew for creating the original concept and inventing a brilliant new way of internet advertising. I do not intend to be unique or original, but I believe that this is something fresh.
